Get off the internet Cowboy, and out in the woods. You surely have coon den trees on your property. Go find them!

I have a fair cheap caller to today's standards and I've called in fox coyote or one bobcat but I think it's called a lucky duck.

I gave coon calling a try last time I was in the states. I had used a "squaller" sound on my foxpro. Maybe I was playing it too loud or just not right but about half of the coons I called would leap out of their den trees and run the other way. Normally the ones that ran away were a little smaller so I assumed that they had been beaten up by some bigger guys and were in no mood for another fight but that was just my guess.

Called in plenty of coon while cat and yote calling. Higher pitch calls around den trees. Late winter saw the most response. They have no fear once they commit. Killed them at my feet more than once.

Praise the Lord and Pass the ammunition.

One of the benefits is nice dry coons to skin, lol. Didn't work out when these three out of the same tree all fell in shallow creek in the mud. frown

Thanks for the replies everyone! Yote nah we don't have any good den trees. Plenty of field but any trees we have are mostly younger, live ones that don't have any holes in em lol.
