Cabela’s G5 game camera anybody run them? Bushnell is not making the HD series now and cell cams are hit and miss here so I picked up the G5 one from Cabela’s $30 after my discount and my Cabela’s bucks were applied. Came with a chip and batteries, lots of MP 32 so the photos should be clear I hope.

I used to run SPYPOINT. I switched to the Moultrie cel cams, I have been really pleased with them.

I have one-good day and night pictures, triggering seems to be quick, battery life is good, only flaw on my camera that I noticed was I had
to format each card when I changed them. Good camera for the price but there are better

I run quite a few of the Cabelas G5 cameras I recommend setting it to video and you won’t spook the coyotes on hybrid or photo. I’ve noticed that it will make a sound that the coyotes run away from if you’re just looking for deer, I wouldn’t worry about it. Hybrid is good in the video quality in my opinion is excellent. Good luck

All higher mp cams are just using computer enhanced images and mostly look grainy to me. A cheap camera with incredible photos and videos, and the brightest invisible flash are Gardepro cameras. I have 3 of them (A3S). About $55 on Amazon black friday deal. Ive been using trail cams for over 20 yrs and have had almost every model. For the money they are great. Ridgetec for cell cameras are unmatched.

I have 1 of those and 4 of the previous generation. I will not buy another. Formatting cards is inconvenient but not a deal breaker. The problem with mine is moisture. Morning pics in the fall were blurry until it dried out mid day. Then when the weather turned, it let in so much water that the cam eventually malfunctioned. I took it home, completely dried out and put it back to work. Seals seemed fine. There is a flaw somewhere, but i wont be getting another of these.

Also, the 32mb pica just fill up the card. No difference in clarity set on the default 12mb.

Thanks Gents good info.

I want them to spook the yotes away from my cat sets so that will work well for me not much bothers cats like coyotes do. I hope the newer gen cameras have some of the problems fixed from past models.
