Picked up a couple things today…..any info on the broad axe?

I got one about identical to yours....No marks, paid 5 bucks for it years ago...otherwise know nothing about them...

Some correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding is that a broad axe is a long handled, two hand, tool used for squaring beams while a hewing axe is short handled, one hand, used for shaping smaller pieces. Am I correct or are the terms interchangeable?

Not sure myself- that’s why I came here to the professionals. Years ago there was a collector of axes on here. Can’t remember his name, he may not be active anymore

Warrior is right , The broad axe is alot bigger than a hueing axe with a left or right facing side ,the replacement handles will be steam bent for the axe right or left to keep hands away from the log .
