Just got back from chasing mule deer in Perkins County, SD and I wanted to ask you guys if there’s a chance that there are wolves out there. I don’t trust and game and fish agency. But I found multiple hair filled turds that were bigger than any coyote scat I’ve found in MN. I am not exaggerating when I say they were a foot long. Also saw the biggest “yote” of my life. It was black/white and I’d have guessed it at ~75lbs. Of course I didn’t get a shot at it. Saw tracks about as big as my fist but unsure if those were domestic huntin dog. Haven’t seen enough wolf tracks to tell the difference. Thought it was worth a thread on here because you guys have boots on the ground. Does SD have wolves?

Some have been killed over the years at one time they were open anytime East River until the Feds got involved they put the end to that. We have big yotes that sounds like those might be feeding on a big dead pile they can pitch a loaf that’s for sure. Places in the Black Hills you could fill an ice cream bucket in short order it’s every 5 steps on the out of the way trails.

Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

So you were one of the 300 MN plates I’ve seen since October eh haha? Shouldn’t be a breeding population but probably get a few stragglers passing through occasionally.

LOL!!! I bet 3000 MN plates I have seen here. You know when hunting season is from Dakotas to here.

I would say stragglers not a breeding population. Big yotes in this country and throughout the Dakotas.

Give me a fish, I will eat for a day. Teach me to fish, I will eat for a lifetime
