Heading down to see the kids near Corpus Christi right after Christmas and plan to fish a few days afterward.. Laguna Madre is a spot i've never spent any time on.. Know a bit about fishing the Aransas Pass area and Rockport. Anyone have any insight on the area they would want to share.. have a shallow water bay boat I'm bringing down, may end up leaving it in TX near the kids so they can use it..

I'm not gonna fight any big water, too old for that, but believe this old girl will work fine..

Thanks Savell. We are most likely gonna be new model Texans before too long. I love to visit but man I don’t like summertime down yonder.

If you move down from up north they'll make you a manager about anywhere, job hunt shouldn't be a problem

lol. Make that wannabe Texans. (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) Yankees is probably more appropriate. That’s what they told us in Mississippi anyways. Said if we just visited we were Yankees. (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) Yankees if we stayed lol. We enjoyed our time there very much. Keep hoping the kids transfer back there but highly unlikely.

Donner they’d have to be packing a gun to get me to take a job! Four letter word in my vocabulary

So you think since you're a Yankee your smart? You best put a grant in for more books to read.

Red southern states have started doing much better since blue state Yankees came in and started running things

Donner, I think you're full of crap personally. There's a reason people from up north are moving south and a big part of that is freedom. I can't be the only one who took your comment as political with blue states moving to red states to straighten them out. What a joke. It's like city folk moving to rural areas and bringing their dumb ideas with them. Such as years ago when I lived in a resort area in a small town and I was burning a big pile of leaves in the fall. There were only a couple of places that actually had people still there at that time of year most are seasonal or weekend places. I lived there year round. I listened to a couple that were talking loud the next street over about how no one would be able to burn leaves like that where they were from and were whining about the smoke. They were from Moline Illinois. It was tempting to yell over if it bothers you that much you can head back home I'm sure no one will miss you.

Boy Donner you sure have become a lockstep liberal here lately. You having a rough time? If so your hero Tim Walz could give you some feminine hygiene products. I don't know of many that would say Minnesota is a well run state. The corruption and theft seems to be piling up as each day goes by. I'm not saying Wisconsin is a lot better with the governor we have and a lot of his decisions but at least we're not Minnesota.

Nope! I'm blessed on all fronts!

It's been a spell since someone called me a Liberal, glad we got that still going on, was scared you're gonna accuse me of something serious like antisemitism!

In the winter, I would fish at Port Aransas. You can launch your boat here or rent a slip. https://www.islandmoorings.com/ It's out of the wind and rough water. If you are after Redfish, it's best to get as close as you can with your boat and get out and wade so you can get into the good area's. What you are looking for is sand pockets in the grass and along the grass in real shallow water.

Awesome info JTG. We usually put in at harbor marina and fish that area. Appreciate the insight and specific info!
