I have always stopped and stood at attention while it is being played (sporting events ect...) in person or on TV. We have concession stands and when we are at an event we stop all sales and pay respects while if it is being played. With that being said I do the cooking for holidays or gatherings. All the kids and grand kids were doing their thing noisy, as ever while I was getting the ham out of the oven. All of the sudden the house went silent. When I turned around all their attention was at the TV and the National anthem being played. It makes my heart feel good that I raised my children to have respect and that they are passing it on to their children. Life is Good.
