I’ve seen a lot of these used well by other trappers, have never used them myself. Got a swedger, curious how you rig them up. Anyone care to share some specs so I can make some for myself?

I have used cable as well as wire. For small critters like mink and muskrats, I just find softball-size rocks and either wire them up with 16 ga. wire with a loop, then attach cable or more 16 ga or 14 ga wire as a drowning slide and stake to shore or put the rock in some chicken wire and attach the same way. Then give the rock a toss into deep water.
For bigger critters like beaver and otter, I usually use rebar nowadays but used to use cable and heavy items on the terminal end such as a couple brake rotors or heavy rocks. Cable for the bigger animals will get kinked up badly though.

Just doing what I want now.

I run mine as adjustables because sometimes you can't always run drowner it's full length because either water gets too deep or rocks.

I make the drowner as normal then add a snare lock with a cable loop on the stop side of the lock for the stake to go in. Make sure it can only slide to the top end of the drowner and the drowning lock goes to the deep end.
