I know all about the cost of shipping and tanning. When in Alaska, my annual shipping bill was substantial, as was my Moyles bill!
Now that I am in rural Oregon, my shipping costs have gone down some, but tanning costs just keep going up.
My thoughts about fly tyers is that the skin doesn't matter. And some crafters try the tanning process themselves or use the dry hides as-is.

Thanks for taking the time to post Beav. Unfortunately I’m really interested in the mink market. Too bad he didn’t offer any numbers. If any of you guys out there sell some mink I’d really appreciate a shout out here. Much thanks in advance.
