Anyone have one? Looking to see what folks think of them and is the kick equivalent to the American? Looking at a .308 for reference.

I have one in 300BO

I don't think they have much more recoil than the Americans

Have been considering one in 5.56 for a truck/ATV gun

the Ranch hadn't been in 308win , they added that recently

they had been mini actions 223, 300blk, 350 legend, 5.6 Grendel 450 bushmaster that would feed from STNAG mags "AR-15 pattern mags"

the 308 Ranch is an American with a AICS mag using the Gen2 American stock but offered in the shorter 16.1" barrel with threaded muzzle , it appears everything is a threaded muzzle , which means Ruger was listening to the , plea of for Pete's sale just thread everything at the factory would you .

will you see a recoil difference between a standard American and a shorter lighter American gen 2 probably not

short barrel 308win tend to get a little blasty in the noise department but are short enough to take a suppressor well. which cuts the blast down.

if recoil sensitivity is an issue the ranch rifle in one of the original mini action cartridges would give less recoil like 300blk but also les range.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Recoil isn’t an issue with kids, it’s noise. I’m just trying to get “my” rifle back!! Since he started going out at night with me back during the Summer shooting suppressed, we both got shell shocked when he shot his first deer this year with his rifle. That little Ruger Compact .243 was LOUD!! Since that first deer all he’s used is my suppressed .308. I figure if I ever want to shoot it I’ll just get him a suppressed rifle or even possibly get his barrel threaded on his .243. He seems to like the hurting that .308 puts on a deer more so than the .243.

Had a ranch in 5.56/.223 was a slick gun. I shot supressed. Sold it and regret it. Ruger owns glenfield now and they just released the glenfield model A. I just picked one up in .243, its basically a rebadged american. Think all the calibers are in 20 or 22 inch barrels. Come threaded and a scope rail. 400 bucks at the local gun shop. I plan on a .223 next. Again i shoot supressed, noise or recoil has been minimal.
