With my old knees I need padding when kneeling. For years I have been carrying a small gardening kneeling pad when setting traps. I know there are chaps with built-in knee pads and work pants that come with pockets for knee pads and the pads. I'm thinking about getting one or the other. What are you using? What are the pros and cons?

I bought some chaps from Blackwater Trapping this year, with knee pads. They are awesome. I have the pants with knee pad pockets, and those are nice, but I like the chaps better. That way it doesn't matter what pants I have on, just put the chaps over them and I am good to go. Many of the pants don't have the pad pockets in the right spot, and I have to adjust the knee pad every time I kneel. The chaps don't have that issue. Big knee pads that are always in the right spot.

They’re the greatest!
I like just the fact that I don’t have to stop what I’m doing to get out a kneeling pad and I can just plow right into my sloppy set making. Haphazard is my middle name.
Seriously they’re wonderful

And if you want some seriously heavy duty chaps, these are from Montana Wolf Trapper, Paul Antczak.

Since I had my knee replacements kneeling is not recommended...and its kinda uncomfortable, lol
I wear strap on knee pads under my foul weather gear, I'm always jamming my knees into the boats gunnel or kneeling, and it doesn't matter what you're wearing, plus they're comfortable so that you hardly know their on.

I found a pair in Harbor freight that's lasted 2 years so far and still going strong, it's the red and black ones, they've got a semi hard face and has good knee coverage, and they're cheap, I think about 5 bucks

I've tried the strap on knee pads, didn't like the way they moved around or the straps, went to foam pad, this season started with Blackwater chaps and pitched the foam pad.

So I have a pair of Bohn motorcycle armor that I wear had to kneel in gravel the other day and they were awesome. The pants are a stretch mesh fabric that keeps the knee pads in place and you just wear regular pants or overalls over them.Might be worth looking at them.

Lots of hunting pants have knee pads now, solid colors too.
Bought the hubby some brown pants from Midway USA with knee pads, he really likes them.
