A landowner that I trap on called and said he had 5 big channel cats pulled up on the bank of his pond and partially eaten. These fish all probably weighed 8 to 10 pounds each. I told him it was probably the work of a family of otters. I told him to put dye in the pond because I can't trap them until after Christmas. He called the next day and said he saw 3 otter eating on the fish last evening.

So like the title says will the blue dye help or is it a waste of time and money.

I would have asked why he didn't shoot them when he saw them. Lake may be cleaned out of fish before your season come in and move on. In season or not probles get resolved ASAP before they become worse.

No clue on the die. Steel or lead never fails.
