Congratulations, Angela ! Proud of ya !
Associates through the Air Force in Industrial Security ,then additional classes when I went over to the Navy . Never achieved anything more than that. In hindsight, I believe going to work for the Justice Department at a young age was detrimental to getting more education. I couldn't justify it. Squandered opportunity.

I graduated 129/131 in my high school class, college wasn't an option. Most teachers assumed I was "special" not "gifted" LOL High school I hunted, trapped, wreslted and played baseball. Finished 46 out of 48 in my class. Teachers new nothing of me or my abilities nor did they care. I knew I could do better.

It's nice to have a couple down syndrome kids in the class when it comes time for ranking at the end.

when I started it was called Wisconsin School of Electronics.
by the time I graduated with my associate degree 2 years later in electrical engineering technology it was called Herzing College of Technology.
a year of night school more I graduated with a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and Computer Science. The name was Herzing College as I understand it they had added career studies like Nursing in addition to electronics and computer aided drafting.
It was tech school that picked up the ability to offer a bachelors degree. didn't do the "college experience" as many call it school was intentionally condensed with classes close to each other and like 5 minutes between classes so you could start at 07:00 and you could be at work by 12:00-12:30 depending on where you worked. we took off for thanks giving and black Friday Christmas eve through new years day and 2 weeks in June memorial day , labor day and 4th of July basically exactly what you would expect stating your first job other than your 2 weeks vacation came in June that was it went ever other week day
when you signed up for classes you had 3 options 07:00 start 08:00 start 13:00 start no mix and match , get in , get out , get to work no wasting time waiting around. Night school started at 18:00 and went to 22:00
everyone started in June there was one graduation a year in June.
about half the faculty back then had been military and probably 10% of students were.
almost everyone was working and going to school , a lot of people full time second shift I worked 30-36 hours a week which someone told me is now considered full time , it wasn't then. that was 40 I also did some contract work on weekends but that wasn't as steady.

First two years undergrad were at university of Nebraska. Finished my four year degree at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia, PA. Majored in Philosophy with minors in Greek and Latin. That was late 80’s. Got my masters in management at Doane University in 2000. Jim I have a few buddy’s who are Doane alumni. They call it “The Harvard of the Midwest!” LOL I know a biology professor up at Doane. Never knew anybody who attended though. I got BS in Wildlife Biology from Kansas State.

I dropped out of high school in tenth grade to get a full-time job, had to have paperwork signed so I could work as an adult in a factory.
My friends talked me into joining a construction company where I started as a mud man/laborer on a masonry crew. Within a few years I was the head of a framing crew building twenty houses a year then got into the excavation and septic system installation end of it.
I started my own general contracting business in 96, still run it today.
Here's the college part. LOL I was ask to manage an apartment building by a customer. In PA you need a college course and must become a real estate agent to be a property manager and collect rents for the owner(s). So I took the course at Lehigh Carbon Community College, passed the real estate exam and became a real estate agent/property manager for that one, six-unit building.
I started a property management company and at it's peak, I managed 43 properties.
If not for the state requirement I probably would not have gone to college. Oh, I had to get my GED to get my real estate license too.
Eh...wot?
