Grew up not too far from there. Great bear country and killed some deer in that area also. Great hunting!

Nothing replaces experience in an area and knowledge of how the game responds to pressure - escape routes. Nice buck. You are slaying them this year sir.
United we stand.

We almost never have snow during the NC season. Had about 6-8 inches of snow about 25 years ago. Certainly was a treat. Saw the most deer ever. They were always there but the snow made them stand out.
Advantage went to the hunter.

The PGC usually has doe permits for that WMA.Is that 3C? Looks like it is 3C, only zone left that isn’t sold out is 4A. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2025/12/full-35779-277193-img_1162.jpeg) I looked that up too when I saw Mike's question. But I figured if Bruce knew he was going to be hunting NEPA, he would have applied for a doe tag during the first non-res drawing.
Eh...wot?

After years and years of deer hunting and killing alot of does I have suddenly lost interest in shooting does.I do apply for doe tags here in Maine as I can then legally transfer the doe tag to my grandson if I get drawn and it is now an additional tag to my license and I can still kill a buck.

Same here Lugnut, figured he would have got a tag early if he wanted to.
I was also curious when Mike asked, so posted what was left.
Wonder how many will actually get filled out of the ones sold? I can’t remember the number but I recall the game commission talking about how it’s not near as many as they sell.
It’s deer hunting, not deer passing.
If I have a tag, I’m ready to drag.

Some years ago when herd reduction was happening it was a big thing for guys to buy as many doe tags as they could with no intention of using them. It was their feeble-minded idea of protecting the overpopulated deer herd.
I ave no idea if it is still a thing.
I usually get four each year and usually fill three of them, sometimes all of them.
Eh...wot?
