We are headed that way Friday from the west Michigan area to pick up a pup Saturday afternoon in O’Fallon. Looking for a recommendation for a good BBQ for dinner and an area must see for Saturday during the day.

TIA!

Known for how they cut ribs but definitely not KC and the sauces. Wrong side of state for me to recommend but from what I have read - I would order ribs and see how they are differently cut. Sauce has more vinegar than what I am used to. Botanical garden and zoo are decent but likely going to be rather cool. Generally avoid St Louis and try to go completely around it.

We typically eat on ‘The Hill’. It is an area that has a very Italian influence and associated restaurants. Cannot say I have ever eaten BBQ in STL.

The arch is a neat attraction but haven’t been there in 20+ years so cannot tell you what it is like now days.

Going to see the Clydesdales was cool when the kids were small.

I cannot tell you first hand, but I have heard that Pappy's Smokehouse is pretty good.
Supposed to be Memphis style BBQ.

I avoid St Louis like the plague.

I’d like to stay on the outskirts if possible. Even anything within a half hour is fine

One of the best two best restaurants I've eaten at was Jimmy's on the Park, in St.Louis, Missouri. It was owned by Jimmy Kristo. Sadly, that restaurant closed. Jimmy was supposed to start a new restaurant. I would check to see if he did. He is one of the very best chefs in the world and specializes in steaks.

I highly recommend going to the City Museum. I've been twice. Parts of it are like a giant, human sized hamster habitat. There's a 6 story, spiral slide, exhibits and all sorts of random things to explore. It has bars and restaurants in it too.

The best site to see in the St Louis area is, St Louis in the rear view mirror.

The Gateway Arch is interesting. Union Pacific RR museum there also. Been a while but downtown St. Louis still had some brick streets. Mother grew up in O'Fallon area.
