I sell my detected silver all the time. In the early 80s i bought a car with found silver. Nowadays i find more silver jewelry than i do silver coins. I couldn't get out much this summer because it was so dry and the ground was rock hard. Still managed 35 silv dimes, 3 silver quarters. It's how i buy traps, or detecting equipment.

So how much is a roll of silver dimes worth?

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

One can buy silver dimes under melt right now from dealers.

If a guy wants to sell it, unless it's to a private individual, he should expect less than melt.

When I first got big into coin collecting. A roll of common date, or unsorted silver dimes, was $20.00. I wish I put every penny I had into silver. I spent way more on foreign coins, only some of which were silver.

When I last bought silver coins, for silver price, I paid $5.40 per dollar face.

I saw some coin books in an online auction last year, sandwiched with other books. I got a book of Indian head pennies, a book of buffalo nickels, a book of early Lincoln cents and a book of standing liberty quarters, plus a lot of other books and some stuff in front of the books for $6.00. I was surprised the coins were in the books still.

So several years ago I purchased some silver here and there. Not much I may have 10 oz total. At this price level I am considering selling. I have never sold any, does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to to sell? I think my average price buying it was probably around $26 or so. I hate to not sell and have the market tank in a couple months. But if I do sell I am sure that the market will fly to 100. Thats just my luck.

I thought about dumping at $50 and glad I didn’t…to be honest, I’m not sure there is a price point I would really dump. I bought it a long time ago for a time when SHTF type situation.

Same. I'm going to hold. I'll either use it in SHTF or the kids can divide it up.

Silver is now playing catch-up to gold as history shows us. Gold/silver ratio starting to compress. A couple of the major silver miners that I watch sure ripped higher today! Really wish I had the knowledge to learn which junior silver miners were worth buying...that's a tricky business!!!

I have been buying on and off for a bit. Have a small pile. From pure poured bars (up to 100 ounce) to bags of 90% dimes and quarters. Some odd ingots as well. Quit keeping a log but last I did my per ounce price buy average was around $23. Not that I can get the current spot from a buyer but if I could would not likely sell. Profit is not why I bought it. If profit was the goal would have invested in a more predictable commodity.

The two predictions I saw yesterday said silver will be between $65.00 and $70.00 an ounce by the end of January.

On an inflation adjusted basis, silver is still a long way from its all time high. I think $65 to $70 by January is in the realm of possibility.
