I hated high school so why would I go to college? Went to work 70 years ago and enjoyed every minute of it. Commercial fished, carpenter apprenticeship, drove truck, escaped where the sewer met the sea for Alaska where all the different skills I learned the first 13 working years helped get established in a totally new environment. Worked construction summers( pre pipeline) trapped winters 48 years as well as establishing a specialty concrete cutting/ concrete focusing on commercial, military , highway, runway projects. Coming up on 84 and still doing it until my savior Jesus Christ calls Me home and absolutely no regrets!
It’s sad that so many able young people have fallen into not expanding their mind working with their hands and meet the needs of dirty hands and looking back at a job well done building and fixing stuff!
Oops Wifey just read this and I need to add she was at my side for the last 65 years and was always my encouragement!

The college path is not for everyone and is getting less appealing every year with what's going on in the liberal cesspools now. It's what I needed for my desired career path and I also have no regrets.
But If kids these days want to improve their lot in life, with more education after high school, I would strongly suggest trade school. Skilled trades pay very well and they are really struggling to hire trained workers. Graduates get gobbled up quickly at great starting wages.
United we stand.

Yep many trades and crafts make more money then a lot of collage educated professionals, didn't get any debt in apprenticeship programs and earned income while learning.

I tell every young person who will listen that a trade school is most often a much better investment than college. Our votech schools in Oklahoma are A+. I know this because I have taken welding classes at ours over the years. The instructors and my much younger classmates were top notch. We need, for example, college educated doctors and engineers but we don't need a large percentage of the college graduates to keep the machine running. We need more plumbers, electricians, etc.

Seems like a lot of mediocre college and university students end up becoming public school teachers
,,,no jobs in chosen fields,,marks not good enough to find a career,,etc
End up just taking a teaching job,,,
It’s why the public school systems are so woke, and in such shambles

ScottW I was there '95-'99, so our paths in the the snow never crossed. I loved it. It's changed a lot the past 10 or so years. Ended up marrying a girl from the area, have property a little south of there and am back there several times a year, including just last weekend. Great area.
