Got bored and went through my trapping book library and pulled out Charlie's book "Learning New Ways".
Just got done reading Paul's story about his first catch....good stuff!
Christmas is right around the corner...it's make a great gift for any trapper.

Paul, do you have any other "goodies" that you might publish, or are you about tapped out?

I haven't thought about writing anything in the last 20 years. I almost didn't put those handful of articles of mine in the book. I didn't feel they were near as good as what dad wrote in that book. I don't have the knack like dad did. He had a very special talent where he could sit down at the drop of a hat and write. He was amazing in his ability to write in a way that anyone, regardless of their education level. could understand what he was trying to get across. When I did a little writing all those years ago, I would have to think about what I was going to write for a day or two before I would even begin to write. Mike, I think you've got that knack also. I always enjoy reading your articles.

I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Same can be said for the way he conducted himself while giving a demo and in his videos. Best of all, the few times I asked him about a certain technique at a rondy, he took the time to explain things fully, without looking around to see if he was missing a sale. No hype, no bluster. Just solid one on one 'til the light bulb came on.
