I tell every young person who will listen that a trade school is most often a much better investment than college. Our votech schools in Oklahoma are A+. I know this because I have taken welding classes at ours over the years. The instructors and my much younger classmates were top notch.

We need, for example, college educated doctors and engineers but we don't need a large percentage of the college graduates to keep the machine running. We need more plumbers, electricians, etc.

100% truth. My brother is a plumbing contractor in Rogers county and he's been screaming that for awhile. In the meantime, his twin sons are attending Baylor. That said, they are both very gifted boys. Graduated high school at 16. Kind of kids ,that, if they get a A- they consider themselves "struggling" .

But he's definitely noted the need for more tradesmen.

I went to a trade school, UTI in Glendale Heights Illinois. It was a 12 month automotive program, plus 4 months of Ford-specific classes.

Not sure I agree with all of that my degree took me 12 years to aquire

While it didn't land me a job, already had one

It did give my brain some more knowledge I couldn't have gotten elsewhere

Was it a waste ? Absolutely not, I was a tool and die machinist when

alot of my schooling happened.

I only started because suny offered free classes to those who had

graduated from high school 10 or more years prior

Somewhere out there is a paper I wrote around 30 years old

It maybe in the archives of University of Missouri, my prof moved

there after SUNY and asked if he could use it

The paper was the carcinogens of the great lakes basin

Took me a whole semester to write that

I learned alot doing so

Strange as it may be, the bio accumulative of bio mass is a leading

cause of cancer or the increase of it in different age groups
