Jesse Tumpak's interview in Nov-Dec issue for those of us Neanderthals who are still using rebar drowning rods instead of fiberglass.

That's a good tip. That'd likely help with my hands getting pinched between the rods too.

I have duct and electrical tape in the trunk for just that purpose.

Most of where I trap and have trapped beaver involves going through woods. Carrying 10' sections of rebar invariably results in branches grabbing the bars, as well as struggling to keep them from going this way and that. However simply grabbing the end of a bar or three is simple, and the trailing ends follow over whatever I subject them to. Easy.

Understood. Sometimes I can't help myself. Apologies extended.
