It was averaging $3.29 at the cheapest place in town (Walmart) until it dropped to $2.99 last week. Then it dropped to $2.97 for a day. Then back to $2.99.
United we stand.

I came through Fargo yesterday on my return trip from pheasant hunting in Sd. At the Loves and Ranger truck stop, one exit south of I29 and I94 exit, gas was $2.29 on the west side of I29 and $2.48 on east side of I29 at a citgo. There is an access rd on the East side of I29 that goes south to the Fleet Farm where gas was $2.18. Guess where I fueled the wife’s Highlander? Got home and gas is $2.89 . It was $2.69 where I hunted at in Sd. Seems to me ebbs and spikes are produced by the oil companies, especially in bigger cities, trying to sell under their competitors. What ticks me off is in small town America the stations all seem to get their gas on the same day, so their prices all change the same day, or on opening day of fishing and deer season!!!!

The prices around southeast PA have been steady for months at an average of $3.30.
Gas is usually more expensive as you head towards north central PA.
On my way back from camp a few days ago I saw it for $2.94. It had been $3.02 there on the way up.. I filled the Tundra's 38-gallon tank and saved about $9.00 on down home prices.
Eh...wot?

Paul, I believe you are talking about a cycle in which gas prices fluctuate from day to day in the same general location, rather than finding different gas prices as you travel around to other areas. It would be interesting to hear more input from someone on here about your question specifically.
I used to know a couple who owned a gas station and could tell us all about it from their perspective, but that was too many years ago.

Yes, I was talking about stations in my area that would fluctuate wildly. They would start off at around $2.99 a gallon and drop two or three cents a day until it reached in the range of 2.39 and 2.49 then it would jump back up over night to $2.99. It keeps repeating this cycle and seems to have no correlation to the price of crude oil. It's been doing this for over a year.

I live right on the border of NY,NJ and Pennsylvania. Always go over to NJ to fill up the vehicles. It was $2.95 yesterday I work in Jersey quite a bit. I always make sure to fill up east of the Delaware River before returning to PA.
