Anybody have any bridger #4 longs with the correct pit pans the 2A or whatever it is? I think I want to get some and rig up that way specifically for otter. Tell me your opinion on the trap and a picture with the pit pan would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Here is a coyote wearing one of them. I wanted them for otter as well. I added the crimp on center chain mount and shock spring from Ed as well. I am very happy with the finished trap. Lots of nostalgia I think.

Did you have any concerns with the speed of this trap with that setup initially? I have some Bridger #4's modified exactly like yours, square lams and all and they are without a doubt the slowest traps I own, even when waxed. So slow I don't really have the confidence to set them.

How do you set them, do you stand on the springs? That can ruin the springs, mine seem fine. I have not noticed any issues. I will go set one and see if mine seem slower than they should be.

They're definitely fine if you're catching coyotes with them. I only have half a dozen and they have all been super slow since new. I set them over my knee. I have old Victor 3N's and laminated steel jaw Victor #4's and they close easily twice as fast.

But I read where a lot of folks love them, so maybe I just got lemons. They were some of the first offset versions.
