I know there's a few posts bout trap prep already but....
I usually use log wood dye then wax.
Has anybody tried that Renno's Trap dye with good outcomes?
Reading the description it says nearly rust proof and odorless, no need for wax.
Just wondering how accurate that statement is on the no need for wax. Maybe I can save a step next year before season..
Thoughts

Ya can't miss fur if yur traps are out somewhere.
Or so I've been told.

Ive used Rennos, it dyed them fine but not anything different than any other I've used. And yes I waxed afterwards.

I think coloring and coating is a matter of principle. I used to dye and wax. Then I tried Andy Stoe’s speed dip. It took one season to figure out doing it in July (instead of October), and thinning it w-a-y down made a huge difference.

Tried Formula One and had rust bleed thru in a couple spots. Then I tried rattle can paint followed by thorough drying and a dip in Full Metal Jacket. Wow. That was the way to go—for me.

If you want to spend time boiling, soaking in the dye pot for 30 minutes or longer, drying and hot wax dipping, have at it. It’s good to feel like a mountain man if that’s your thing. For me, I got better things to do with my time.

Teacher,
What did you find the dip in FMJ did for your spray-painted traps vs. not dipping them and spray paint only?
