I’ve found I reach the point of diminishing returns, and higher expenses (gas) about 2 weeks before I quit for the season. ‘Happens every year. This year I quit on a high note. My buddy Jon was ready to go deer hunting and needed a break. His call to quit. And I decided to quit too. Good thing I did, we got slush, freezing slush, nasty weather all around. A daily check would have seen me sliding off the roads for sure. The last day gave us 2 coon. It was a good time to quit.

I've been fighting the weather here, much the same as you have. Not quite at that point yet but with up to 14" snow forecast by Saturday then temps in the 40s, you are probably wiser than me.

I don't like to quit. Pulled everything before this last snow come. Want to get out and see if I can get a couple of fisher and cat sets in. The wind and drifting might give me a problem. Got baits out and really will want to check them in a week.
