It's a cross fox, a simple red with the ressive Alaskan silver gene

Beautiful catch !

That fox may turn out to be a once in a lifetime fox. I caught one in Pa. many years ago, and likely won't get another like it.

They are very uniquely colored animals.

If you caught one in PA, it was aranch fox escape, or the off spring of one

Either or, it's a fascinating color phase of the red fox

Natural cross fox come only from the Alaskan gene, that gene is

apparent in a silver, a faint red tint is on its shoulder

Regular silvers bred with reds are called basta$$$ reds, ,there will be a

mixture of reds and silvers in the offspring

A silver carrying the Alaskan gene mating with a red

will throw 25 percent crosses and the rest silvers and reds

Nice fox CasterMaster. Funny I caught one quite similar this year. Never seen one like it, always just reds in my neck of the woods. I’m getting mine mounted. Cheers
