I've probably put 100 to 125 miles on mine chasing elk in the rocky mountains and they are as good as new. I treat them with leather conditioner before every trip.

Well worth the money. Buy once cry once.

I've been buying the Keen Targhee (mid-height boot) for years. They had sole separation issues on my first two pair. They seemed to have fixed it now, last two pair were good.

Midway USA has a sale on the Crispi boots going on the last time I got a email from them.

I have the Guide GTX.

I'd stick to the stitched on soles , keens were my worst they fit great , but I would get 6 months and the glue and sometimes material where the foot flexes would give out had 3 pair all do the same thing , each pair seemed to last a couple less months.
so I quit buying them.

just over 1 year of hunting later , that isn't every day wear that is hunting 1 day a week 6 months a year

I only got to hunt a month this year
the leather split on these about my 3rd day out hunting this fall
I shoe gooped them to get some more wear out of them , the insides and bottoms are not bad

Those Crispi's are all over the map on price, they even have a factory outlet site for "bargains"

Any model you've tried "better" , or more useful?
Won't be Mountain climbing or heavy hiking, just looking for a decent comfortable outside boot....that's not made in China!

Funny you guys complaininng about your 100.00 chinese boots falling apart. You have to pay 3-400 + for a good pair nowadays. And they will outlast a dozen or more cheapos.

It’s just amazing the boots are built to fail but we are conditioned to expect that now from China. Crazy

I like Columbia's boots and clothes etc you break it or wear it out they will fix i t or give you brand NEW

Office shoes. any serious amount of walking and the bottoms fall apart. Got tempted by a close out pair again this year and lasted about two weeks.

It’s tricky so many products are made in China now heck about everything is now. I buy the Cabela’s Octane rubber boots they last longer than the LaCrosse boots made with that wet suit material and about the same other boot brands for half the price on sale.

It’s all made in China that’s all that’s out there that fits my need.

was going to buy the Crispi at shields but did not have my size, but they did in the Kennetrecs and they were on sale, so I bought a pair. They took awhile to break in but so far I am very happy with them. I parted ways with Danner after 20 years, linings kept coming loose and bunching up and traction was poor at best.

Like I said in my previous post, the soles of the first two pair of Keen Targhees I had separated in less that a year. They are comfortable and waterproof...but the darn soles come off.

I'll third, or fourth, the Keen sole issues. If they don't separate/fall off they wear down to slicks in no time.
I can get them cheap through work, if it was my own money, I'd be spending it elsewhere.

Wolverine offers few lug soles most are work boots for indoor use but they make crap mostly now anyway. It’s a struggle even if you pay the big bucks it’s not a guarantee of quality products.

Check out Hoffman boots, Kellogg, Idaho. I've been wearing a pair daily for 3 years and they're still great and still waterproof.

For just a plain old work boot Tractor Supply sells Schmidt boots well made but heavy. I use them when working with firewood had them for years just replaced the laces so far reasonably priced when I bought them years ago. Looks they are made in the Dominican Republic they have been good to me no glue BS.

Crispi and Kenetrek for me.
