I'm 15 years late to the ar-15 thing so forgive my ignorance on them. Is there a site that is generally considered the best for parts? I hate gimmicks and having to watch for sales, I just want good parts at a good price.

Could someone also recommend a lower parts kit that has a good trigger? Trying to put a couple hunting guns together, one 223 and one 450 bushmaster

Get a lower parts kit without a trigger then add a aftermarket quality trigger, if your real cheap Palmetto State Armory sells a standard trigger that’s polished. Figure the exact parts then go from there the add ons are a budget killer.

PSA has magpul complete lower builds for $99 with the trigger included that’s a good deal.

Thanks, I have stripped lowers that I bought locally, was gonna get the psa but by the time you add in FFL transfers it was just simpler to get $50 stripped lowers and support the local shop

I have put 100's of AR's together. The AR-15 is all mil - spec so all the parts interchangeable. Why someone would buy a 300.00 stripped lower when you get the samething with a 50.00 lower. The parts you put inside are the important parts. I always put in a drop in trigger so you can adjust the pull. The pins are all the same so is safety. I like a good bolt stop and mag catch. The fun part is you can change parts out as you can afford them.

My main place is AR-15 Discounts . Get on there email list bec that have a sale and coupons like every few days honestly

But honestly I just shop around to see what's what and who has deals . Usually get my barrels from BCA but they need a little TLC usually, complete lowers from PSA

As far as lower parts kits ... Most of the ones I seen usually just come with mil spec triggers and springs I'd just buy a separate trigger and pop it in

Lower build kit does not include the lower itself just all the other parts needed.

Not all are Mil-spec, I bought a rock river arms upper and the bolt wouldn’t work on my old colt competition H-bar. Got it to work by using the colt bolt in the rra upper, I think I haven’t shot it yet.
