This is how the old beaver trapper set his under ice set up. Obviously the pole would be depth appropriate. I think a guy could run a drowner cable down the pole to prevent the beaver from sticking to the underside of the ice. Assuming you had adequate depth.

Always wanted to try it but am not in an area with under ice opportunities.
