Well my son had a small road line set he runs before school. I had a barber appointment at 9 so I figured I’d go along. Well he had one and was having a hard time getting the death ray on him it wasn’t quite light yet so I got out to help and when he went to adjust the death ray raccoon got out ran toward us and bit my ankle. I wasn’t dressed right I didn’t have boots on. It’s more of a graze but did draw blood and my Dr told me to go to the ER so here I sit. Great way to spend my day off

Probably nothing but being wrong would have serious consequences so good luck.

I realize you weren't trying to release it, but coons are the only animal that have attacked me after releasing them. I think they want revenge, haha. I always have my release pole ready to whack em after the first time it happened. Good luck with your Dr visit.

Will keep the thread updated. Waiting for the Dr to come in now. We were using the death ray because he set this line up to run in the way to school. But ya we went to the 22 after that. He did catch 5 today out of 11 sets makes 52 coon for the year he’s caught

They'll probably give you the post exposure rabies shot to be safe. It'll be 4 shots total over 14 days. Also, a tetnus shot if not up to date.

Got the first round of shots. Have to go back Monday and Friday for another then the day after Christmas. Went and set 19 DP this afternoon. We shall see what moves tonight. Hopefully we have some tight chains in the morning

You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to but do you have to pay out of pocket for those? When I got my post exposure vaccines it was covered through workers comp, otherwise I would have had a 300 ER bill and possibly for each booster

Why not just get the coon tested for rabies? Thats what I did when I had an incident with a skunk. Much cheaper and no shots on my end.

Im not that tough.... worrying about rabies for 4 days was enough for me. And I'm not one to worry about diseases and germs....

When I told my wife about it and I might have rabies, her response was, " can me and thr kids get it?". For a second I thought she was joking at first but she was being serious. No worries about me. I just said not unless I bite you and walked away.

I shot it in the head. Thought you couldn’t get it tested after that.
