Thought I would post some random photos of my wolverine trapping adventures. I lived and trapped in northern part of southeast Alaska for about 40 years, and while I trapped a lot of the usual critters such as marten, otter, mink, beaver, ermine and even fisher, my passion was wolverine. The conditions were always challenging and when I started trapping out of a small 17' open skiff in the ocean, it was sometimes dangerous. But I miss those times like no other.
I sure wish I had taken more photos, and I will have to spend some time getting pictures from SD cards back when my line camera was one that took those cards and stored the many more pictures I took back then.
Hopefully some of our northern members will add to this thread.

This was one of the best wolverine I ever took. The guy I sold it to had it rugged and it was spectacular. It was a large male.

This one was a very un-happy male taken Christmas Day, I think. It was well caught in one of Kendall's canine extremes that he custom-made for me and mad_mike with no off-set jaws. Those traps went on to catch quite a few wolverine and even a few wolves.

This guy was a scrapper. I didn't have snow to tell the story but think that while he was in the trap another wolverine happened along and they fought it out. Or it may have been a wolf. That said, 3 days later, I caught another male wolverine in the same set.

Another nice male ready for salt. I slipped it onto an otter board for brushing, then flip the skin and apply heavy salt before putting in a shipping box. Then the box goes into the freezer prior to express shipping to the buyer.

This is the rug from the first beautiful male hanging from the chain in the first post.

Wolverine skull with perfect teeth. Some taken with a foot hold don't sport such nice chompers.

Adifferent one that was cleaned and finished for my personal collection.

This guy was a digger. He had out-foxed me for a month, flipping my trap out of the way, going in the back of the cubby, even pulling out carefully concealed #330s. So, I set a completely exposed extreme, then set a MB 750 about 4' away from the cubby with no bait at all. Both traps were chained off to separate trees. Of course he waltzed in, stepped in the exposed trap,
What a mess getting that un-tangled. After his excavation that set never produced again.

This one was a young male, I think around 25#. Pretty calm as trapped, live wolverine go.
I will try to add more pictures later, but in the mean time hope others will contribute.

This was the only wolverine I ever caught that had any white on it. I had a standing order for a wolverine from a game ranch in Texas that had a wildlife museum. They got this one.

This one was an old wolverine in excellent shape. No broken teeth, but very worn. Had porky quills festered under the skin, and one sticking out of his nose. My son pretty happy to get in on the action. The next day it snowed about 2 feet, and the wind picked up over 60 mph. That weather stuck around for 10 days.

Excellent photos and stories to go along! Thanks for sharing! I still have hopes of moving up there one day soon. Thought I had a job lined up a year and a half ago after 2 great interviews, but I don't think they wanted to wait the 3 weeks until I could get there with 2 week notice and drive time.
