This weekend will be a grand adventure for the Cub Scout troop...
The last will and testament of the Mad Trapper was found, leading to the discovery of two surviving diary pages telling the tale of how he trapped and skinned the last pair of carnivorous White Beaver in Canada...but not before being mortality wounded by the male!
Trick will be to navigate to 2 landmarks with a compass until the invaluable beaver hides are recovered. Kids are rewarded with a few candies and a "BEAVER RETRIEVER" challenge token LOL



I had way more fun than I should have making the hides from dollar store bathroom rugs and foam floor mats LOL.

… had a couple Canadians down here that would frequent the bar next to where I worked … they found out I trapped and would always say “ well if isn’t the mad trapper “ whenever I walked in lol

Well, we stashed the "beaver hides" at 2 locations last night, requiring a 200 yard hike followed by another 300 yard hike.
I've got to get groups of 10 kids rotated through the activity in 1 hour per group. We'll see how this goes...

We'll, that was worth it. The kids really enjoyed it and it felt like a big adventure to them.
The challenge tokens were a hit too.
Less than $50 investment got 4 solid hours of outdoor exercise for about 30 kids.
