Loved trapping shallow creeks where it was to shallow to drown a beaver or otter. I would run a long chain on my beaver sets and they could move around. It was exciting when a fifty pounder would chase you until he got to the end of the chain. Lots of great memories, thanks for sharing, I agree otters are very mean! grin

I was trapping on the family farm once, thinking of dad like you said, and went to set a trap and dug up one of dads from 20 years ago. That was pretty cool.

Nice! Your photos with the coons bring back lots of good memories. The creek on our farm where I grew up and started trapping looks alot like the one pictured. I really need to make an effort to do the same kind of trapping again. Its a shame when we give up the things that brought us so much joy, even if they are simple things.
