Still chasing my first fisher. How big of loops do you normally see fisher run in your woods? 1 week, 2 weeks, longer? 30 days? Set on fresh sign a week ago and no sign of it since

In my limited experience (15+/-), if you have one in the area, you should have it within a week. Of course it depends on the population, and maybe other trappers. Your fresh sign, may have been caught a day or two later by someone else. Nothing worse than trying to catch an animal that is no longer in the food chain.

The few I have monitored from my canine trapline via their tracks in the snow was 11 to 12 days. If in fact it was the same animal.

It would come thru very near the same line of travel along a valley and creek line area. I could have caught it with a cage trap since it crossed under the same fallen tree near the stream bank.

A good pinch point created naturally. It came thru right where I had to open a cattle yard gate so I had the tracks very near to where I opened that gate daily to run a few traps in a large hillside pasture bordered by heavy timber.

That’s would be my fear, if it got caught by someone else and my traps are waiting on nothing! Hopefully not and he will be back through in the next few days
