I was looking for Bobcat sign and seen the largest Bobcat I had ever laid eyes on! He run across the road in front of me from underneath an old trailer house to this big spruce tree. You can barely see him under the spruce tree. His belly was dang near dragging on the ground. Anyone in this local, should go after him. I believe he would be a record breaker. I was passing through and too far away for me to set it.

Funny you should mention it. I've seen a beautiful dark marten at this spot, several times!

I'm not too far west of there. Always been a good cat population in that area.
Used to be three serious trappers living within a mile or so of that exact place. All gone now.
That cat might just die of old age.

Is this an early or really late April fools joke? I can't make out squat in these pics.
I do believe i can make out 2 or 3 raccoons, and maybe Waldo...

The 45 degrees sure settled the snow. Now I want to know where this "hot spot" is. It is in my county.

I have nothing clever to put here.

I could see 5 grouse from the kitchen window cooking breakfast yesterday morning and another 4-6 out in the woods. They are up in the trees this time of the year picking apples and buds. Now, about this 50 pound tom hot spot.................

I have nothing clever to put here.

Grouse live on the prairie and aren't fit to eat. Partridge live in the woods.

I see 5 grouse just to the left of that record book cat. I can’t believe you didn’t roll down the window and make supper!

Waggler, back in the day most people around here call rufed grouse partridge. They are not but is what we called them

We didn't call anything a grouse. They called sharptail grouse sharptails or chickens. The reason for chickens is we do have an occasional prairie chicken show up so we lump them together. Ruffed grouse were partridg. Spruce grouse we spruce hens. Hungarian partridge we called huns.

Anything else is blasphemy lol.

In regards to what you call them.....fine eating birds. A ruffed grouse in a tree is a...(pot)ridge because ; it is going to be potted and go into the pot for supper; waterfowlers shooting ducks on the water call it " waterswatting"
prairie chickens are square tails as grandparent called them
Hungarian partridge are huns or grey partridge above the 49th and Gray partridge below the 49th....

good luck for those checking traps with this Alberta clipper.....
