I poured off the darker stuff that thawed first when I put it outside to thaw this is what was left after it thawed after that. Seems like a lot of water but I got enough out of it for this year and the next.

Bobcat urine I’m no urine expert just ask Brown LOL it happens with all urine just seems like a lot of water ratio to me. What I poured off was noticeable darker even darker then the bottom.

Urine is and always been mostly water

That said, back in the old days it was watered to promote more urine for sale

Thanks I added glycerin to it and topped off a couple other bottles that I had from before.

I will also say that freezing urine and pouring off the excess

to create a more concentrated product is not a good idea

One must use less urine as concentrated urine will create refusals

There’s a balance between too much water and not enough I was give some fox urine once by a fur buyer that said it had water in from his pen Fox. My buddy sprayed it to see his dogs reaction and nothing he put down some better stuff and the dog marked on it. I’ll see if my cats reaction to it if this wind ever stops.

Yeah, mine gets partially frozen all the time during cold snaps. I just never separated it out like you did. If it's froze real hard I'll put it on the dash over a defroster vent. Makes the trapping truck smell good. LOL

Eh...wot?

Insert profound nonsense here

I wouldn't be too shocked to find out the same synthetic cat musk that is use to make cat urine by some is also used in the gland formulations. Some claim it smells like cat to them but the animals sense of smell is a whole lot different. Theres synthetic coyote, fox and mink. Maybe a few others, I haven't looked for awhile.
I wonder how many who have replaced the stuff for the real product compared the attraction of it to the real ingredient. But as long as it catches a few animals most are satisfied.

Law Dog I usually do it a bit different ( maybe the same result). I freeze it one night and pour off what doesn't freeze instead of freezing it solid and pouring off what thaws out first. Is this urine u collected yourself?

We still use the real thing in our gland lures. No tinctured synthetic wompascatass material. smile It wouldnt surprise me if some did.

Not my collecting of the urine, it froze in the shop that way. I needed to put out some supplies along the cat line that’s why I poured it off before it was mostly water again. I use the glands I collected I don’t buy any so I know what I have a few guys give me their carcasses I give them aged lure back in exchange. Some call cats out of state they don’t even care about the glands.

There is a lot of liquid sold as cat urine. Who has all them caged cats and how much does a cat pee?
Mostly about the same for coyote and fox. There are some coyote and fox urine producers but not enough to produce all that is sold.
SO - Guess what my opinion is on what you are dealing with.

Normally you can collect a fair amount from bladders on cats, not so much with coyotes
