My uncle had a Buck game hatchet like that. He split a lot of Elk spines with it. I had the cheaper Schrade game hatchet and split a few moose and elk with it. Nice and light, easy to split a spine with once you get on to it, two or three light, accurate whacks per vertebrae.

I always wanted the schrade knife/hatchet combo all in one sheath but never found one reasonably priced.

dont sell that whatever you do. some things you will never be able to replace. That is one made in the USA, dont matter how much money its worth.

From the first pic- it looks like the butt has a couple rolled indentations on the edge, don't know how deep the scratches are near the bit, and maybe some permanent discoloration to the tang. I think those characteristics would put it more in the $125 ballpark... In my opinion..
