While back I posted about make oak whiskey mugs. Which Im still doing. I Have however found my self in need of couple good Forestner bits.
I have pretty decent set now thats 30 some years old. Biggest one is 2-1/8 and its just hard steel and I'm beating it up pretty good drilling ended grain. I can and have sharpened it but don't want keep that up. At least not every time I use it.
I would like to purchase a couple more larger size bits with carbide cutters. Of course I have looked on Amazon and see plenty there. The main thing is they seem to cheap to be any good.
So my question is what are you other guys that do wood working using? Do you have any and use them? Would I be a head to spend more money on one or two good ones in size I want? Or buy some the cheaper ones just use them up.
Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Mac

How are you sharpening it? Hand files or a powered hand grinder?
