I have had trapped and snared animals killed all different ways, but this was my first death by buffalo. Fox was entering buffalo pen alongside the gate and then killing poultry in other areas of the compound. I set the snare there and fastened it to the wire yesterday. This morning the red was dead outside the buffalo enclosure. Ribs were crushed. Pelt was not damaged.

Bad day for a fox and a good day for the henhouse.

My friends who raise buffalo would tell you as long as they're not to bored you can keep them just about anywhere . but if they get the urge to go see if the grass is greener else where they'll be gone !

They also hate K 9's and will kill them if given the chance , you're fox found that out in a hurry !

Saw a horse dispatch a wounded coyote when we were hunting one time. The coyote laid down in the pasture, only to be approached and stomped to death by the horse!

Dang skippy. Seen several YouTube videos of buffalo farmers. Those are some CRAZY animals. Wild and unbelievably agile and nimble.

Seen where cattle in Arizona would surround a caught yote out in the desert and heard talk about them stomping them even.

Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

When caught anything in this pasture there was no doubt. You best not piddle or it would be a greasy spot.

It looks like the chain is over kill on that gate, I’d say a piece of mechanic wire would be good enough, I’ve seen more than one dog put under a gate by cows, the best was when I watch a Tom cat take a few swipe’s at a 2000 pound bull about the third time the bull had enough and up a tree the cat went with the bull helping him along, luckily the bull didn’t go through the fence.

I was trapping beaver for my friend who had a herd of buffalo and seen 4 cow buffalo in a pasture north of where I'd normally expect to see them so I stopped at the house to let them know .
Long story short George rode back out there and they were waiting at the cattle guard George said to rush at them and honk the horn which I did all 4 cows cleared the cattle guard from a stand still then trotted further out into the pasture they were supposed to be in !

I rode out with George to feed so.e cake to his buffalo it took us 2 hours to find the 300 head of buffalo granted the pasture was huge with a lot of coulee's and brushy draws in it .
They dehorned the majority of their buffalo so they weren't quite so likely to kill one of the other buffalo and I worked the nose tongs because I weight more than two of them combined and even a squeeze chute for working buffalo is twice as heavy duty as compared to normal livestock .

Sadly I moved away and George and his wife have both passed away and their son has the ranch now , I'll stop back in for a visit one of these days just for old times sake and a drive out into their buffalo pasture and sit on hill top just because !

Buffs are not hard to contain in a fence. Chain on the gate is to keep people out and not buffalo in.
Canada geese often land in their pen and the buffalo ignore them, but let a hawk or eagle land in there and they run them right out.
