The front that came from out west with all the big wind came through here yesterday. It knocked 30,000+ households out of power just with my supplier in my area. It's gonna be a couple of days before they get it back on.

I heard on the news there are still thousands out of power in the western and mid-western states.

I'm on genny power, everybody around here has them now because of how bad our electric provider sucks, major outages every couple of months because they stopped doing tree trimming twenty years ago.

I wonder if I can get them to reimburse me for the $50.00-$75.00 in gas it's going to cost to power off the genny until they get it restored?

Nothing more for me to do here, I'm going to top off the genny and go pheasant hunting.

Eh...wot?

They play the “severe weather” card almost immediately, as soon as the wind blows a little bit. They are still playing it even though it’s a beautiful calm, clear morning.

The 475 number is just my outage, there are still thousands more in the area

With every lektric bill and gas bill, I am asked if I would like to help a neighbor pay their bill too. No thank you but they can help pay mine,

ours blinked a handful of times yesterday, but we didn't lose power for more than a few seconds at a time.

having said that; before next winter, we'll have a backup generator installed.

good luck on your hunt!

We had it for days surprisingly little damage here for the amount of wind we had except for Rapid City they hit 100 mph winds and took a hit. Normally I’d spend half a day picking up limbs and branches around the house and neighbors places in the past.

Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

Wind also equals no way a cat is getting to the set under this tree!

Elkguy, you can turn them with the arrows before you hit “all done.”

The wife called and said the power was restored about 11:45 this morning while I was out hunting. Only a 19 1/2 hour outage this time around. That’s pretty good for our provider.

Got my limit of two pheasants in a couple hours this morning. The pup started retrieving downed birds for the first time.

I had to keep the black dog at heel to give the red dog a chance to retrieve some birds. It’s the first time I’ve done that, retrieving was 100% the job of the black dog and she didn’t like having the red dog do it, not even a little bit.

Drinks back at the truck.

It was a good morning hunt. The black dog flushed five more birds on the way back.

The one bird looks like a hen.

It is. The first bird Raven flushed was a hen. They are legal game here.

Not much damage here with the wind, at least you had a good day hunting.

What state are you from that allows hen pheasants to be harvested?
