Went Friday morning with my sister and brother inlaw to watch a Highway bridge implosion. Got there early so could get good close spot to park with view. I have been across this bridge many times in my life. My father alway made it scary for us as kids. Wasn't until I was older that I realized he was spoofing us. Once I could drive myself It became one of those cool experiences. This bridge linked WI with Lansing IA and is on the IA side. We are park on water front on north side of the bridge in Lansing IA. If you look close you can see the new parts of the new bridge that's under construction.

Watched live on News 8 like saying goodbye to an old friend many trips across the Black Hawk.

Yes they are clearing it out, it is in the we main shipping channel. It is also in the way for the ferry they are running while they building the new bridge. I think the original plan was to leave the old bridge in use a bit longer. They had put monitors on it some time ago as they knew it was becoming unstable.
