I have heard the term "Seminole" applied to various Blake and Lamb toothed traps over the years. I've been told that any with teeth were Seminole specials, and that Seminole traps had sharper wire teeth, and that only under spring traps were true Seminoles. I have no idea what the truth is.

Do any of you educated folks have some clarification on the matter? Any info would be much appreciated.

Also, does anyone have any recommendations on some literature that covers Blake and Lamb traps?

The Blake and Lamb Seminole trap was a #4 double underspring with teeth under the jaws and a heavy chain. Later, they came out with other traps that had the same teeth, I don't believe that these other traps were called Seminole by Blake and Lamb. However, the teeth are referred to as Seminole teeth.

Here is a page from the Blake and Lamb catalog, about 1925.
