The hunt brothers tried to buy the majority of silver in the world, effectively making silver impossible to find and driving up the silver price. If you owned silver at the time you made a lot of money...if...you knew to sell it before the collapse. When you buy up all the silver, you can't ever sell it or you'll cause the price to plummet. The price dropped and all the new silver millionaires were again silver hundredaires.

Hunt bros in todays market is called industry. The reason the hunts went broke is because the govt. and big banks changed the rules in the middle of the game.

Was told buy guy smarter than me. Many countries are cratering economically right now. Precious metals are the safe bet around the world. Just might stay high till the Lord comes back. Thinking of moving penny collection when I get time. Would like to open up some space.

That is exactly right. They rigged the game. Basically made it so the hunts couldn't keep buying and let the shorts clear their position.



This time there are 1.6 billion Chinese and another billion plus Indians buying too. I don't see the Shanghai market changing their rules.

The COMEX has already changed their rules some, raised the margin rates 10 percent. The Shanghai shook it right off. If and when the COMEX and LIBOR change the rules again they will find a different kind of resistance than in the past.

Sunday night and Monday should be real interesting in my opinion. Silver is still a few dollars on Shanghai. Keep in mind shanghai only deals in deliverable contracts, in other words physical. On the COMEX less than 2 percent of contracts take delivery. In other words it's selling air. If the Cabal cannot bat it down a lot of shorts or going to get washed.

Right now I think it's getting pretty risky. I'd say if one doesn't already have a position this isn't the space to be in. I like to discuss metals and monetary issues, I'm not trying to encourage anyone to buy metals

Angela, I only read the headlines.

$300? Lots of numbers are thrown about. I try to be wary of such numbers. I think a guy could make a case for $250 silver. . I think it will take a monetary crisis to keep it that high.

Then again if industrial demand keeps rising who knows. AI, renewable energy and battery technologies require a lot of silber Samsung designed a new battery that supposedly will go 600 miles and charge to 80 percent on 9 minutes. It's said that battery will use a kilo of silver in its manufacturing process. At $300 that is 10k per battery. Would that make it too expensive to use silver. Would solar panel manufacturers find an alternative? If the answer to these 2 questions and other manufacturing uses is yes than the only thing that will sustain those prices is crisis. I would prefer not to see that world change.

The fix is getting deeper. The COMEX is again raising margin rates Monday morning 10% on gold, 13.6% on silver, 20% on platinum.

They don't do that to try and raise prices. They do it to suppress. It's going to be an interesting week
