Some of you guys probably already know this ,, and are probably doing it..
But for you guys that don’t,
An easy way to scrape muskrats is to take an old muskrat stretcher board, or mink…and put the skin on it,,, make sure it’s flat,,, take a regular tablespoon and start scraping the excess meat and fat off…
You need to leave the saddle on them anyway… so that is all you really need to do to them.
No need for a special fleshing beam for them.

Stand by your principles, Stand by your guns, and victory complete and permanent is sure at last.

I just use a little one-hand scraper. Swipes about a 2-1/2" area at a time.

Just doing what I want now.

well, my special rat board is attached to the bench. If you have a lot of rats to flesh a tee spoon is going to give you lots of hand fatigue. On off and fleshed takes about 15 seconds. But a rat board will work.

I just lay the rats head down on my big beam and give em a quick scrape with the dull side of my steel rose knife.

I use a orange street cone. Muskrat hide fits down over the point snug and use a one handed scraper to flesh.

I have a rat sized beam that I C-clamp to the top of my regular beam when I do rats. I use a small, very dull fleshing knife. Same set up for mink.

Back in my muskrat hayday. I had a short, 1x4 pine board, tapered round on the end and mounted to my skinning bench. I could skin, flesh and board a rat in under 2 minutes.
