I had two sleep studies done; I use a Bipap machine because I stop beathing several times a night.
Two things I do is, the meds I take twice a day I take them 12 hours apart and at the same time and take a shower and go to bed at the same time.

Don't look at the clock when you wake up in the middle of the night.

I have never been one who sleeps good every night.

I sleep like crap for 4-5 nights, then sleep great for a night.

Since I've had this back surgery I sleep like crap every night now.

Awake about every 2 hours for no apparent reason. Melatonin doesn't help

I've tried 3 different kinds of prescription sleeping meds, they haven't helped. 2 made it worse.

Thinking about going to the hippie shop and getting some gummies to try. Lol

I've fallen asleep WHILE drinking coffee, lol

My wife likes to watch british tv shows, that crap will put you to sleep pretty quick....then I have to wake up so I can go to bed... grin

Then gotta pee with the dogs, sometimes twice, try to go back to sleep and usually successful...for awhile...
Try counting backwards from 500, that usually gets it done before you hit 300....

Have you ever tried just getting up and Doing something for an hour? Like work on something or meal prep for for the next day, a small house project? Then when your body is tired again, try going back to sleep?

The C-Pap gave me back my life.

I was so tied all the time...I'd fall asleep at Traffic lights.

Feel like a new man.

Been 8-9 years now..with the C-Pap machine.

That's not a fact for everyone. I've had plenty of stretches working 15 hour shifts, and not been able to sleep well at night. Spend all day at work ready to fall asleep, and when you finally get to go to bed sleep doesn't happen, or only happens for an hour or two.

I run 10-12hr days 7 days a week and I still have a problem getting sound uninterrupted sleep. I may have a very active mind that likely contributes to my sleepless nights.

Same here, I can do hard physical labor for 10-12 hours and go to bed and don't feel tired. Usually up 2-3 times a night w/BF breaks.

Interesting topic. I too have been having a hard time getting to sleep. My mind does not shut down and I get restless legs. I'm 68 yrs old and retired. I do drink coffee, but not as much as I did when I was working. Maybe one or two cups every morning. But I do chew tobacco, and I think that may have alot to do with it. It really sucks not being able to get a good nights sleep.

How much coffee and pop is involved with the folks that don’t sleep well? My last coffee is at 2 pm my only pop is at 5 often caffeine free if I drink the cola one after 5 I pay the price for that so I avoid it.

Most of the time, none. Maybe a cup at 5 or 6 AM.

I have used a CPAP for just about a year now. I had severe apnea affecting my breathing about 48 times per hour. Not sure exactly where it is at now but am doing another sleep study in March. While it took a little to get used to it sure has helped me get the sleep I need.

Nessmuck and ADC both gave me advice early on that really helped. Thanks!

Wonderful Wife and I both take a Magnesium Glycinate supplement before bed that has really worked as well.

Moosy....they can look at your SIM card in the machine..and make adjustments from that info if needed.

You have to remind these Pulmonary Doctors for your annual check up...

Because they could care less

I took Ambien for 25 years. Now I take a 20 mb CBD gummy every night. Normally works. Avoiding alcohol helps as well.

One thing that has the greatest impact on my sleeping is eating a big meal late at night then I often have weird dreams that wake me up. Then if I go back to sleep the dream continues I find that kind of strange. LOL
