Usually I don't start snaring coyotes until mid January (deer hunters and bird dogs are mostly gone by then). Neighbor had a coyote worrying his sheep asked me to get it. Set 2 snares yesterday and had this one today. Not the biggest I have ever caught but a respectable 48 pounds. I rarely have live coyotes. Warm they are easier to skin, but still no joy when your barn is not heated.

Real nice looking yote. 48 pounds would be a tank by Montana standards. I can relate to the unheated fur shed. I just put on appropriate clothes and try to keep the space heater I have in there close enough. And hope it's not 20 below when I'm skinning.
