I know some of you don't much care for me and if that is the case I can live with it but here is the question if anyone cares to answer. Thanks in advance if you do answer.

Neighbor had wolves mixing in with their cows. He shot one of the wolves out of the pack. Do you think there is any chance the wolves would revisit that area ? I have considered setting it up but think it probably is a waste of time.

Slick,
I know of a couple of people that only hunt wolf not trap. If they have a hot area, they get 1 or 2 out of the pack they usually wait bout 6 days then go back to the area & are usually successful of harvesting another wolf or 2. So I'd say yes, if you can spare the traps from your normal areas.

Ya can't miss fur if yur traps are out somewhere.
Or so I've been told.

Any dead cows? Any attempts to kill cows. Id say there is a good chance they will be back.
I forgot or didn't know, why don't some not like you ?

Wolves likely more interested in chasing cows than worried about losing one of their gang. I suspect they will be back.

Same here. In my experience a wolf carcass is some darn good bait for other wolves who have no scruples about eating their former buddies !

wolves are creatures of habit. they have an area to patrol and they are fairly reliable when and where they will be. Though if an alpha or both alpha are taken out. That all changes and there will be no rhyme or reason as to where the rest of the pack will go. The other time wolves won't be on their normal haunts is breeding season. 1 feb - 20 feb wolve could disappear or show up where you never seen them before.

Life is hard. It's even harder if your stupid!

Thanks for your opinions. I am trying to get in touch with landowners and with New Years holiday don't have any update. One tried to call but I was out of range. If there is a beef carcass I will set it but not to sure what is what.

In my opinion, wolves return to where they get a meal and have really good memories!

I love the smell of burning spruce---I love the sound of a spring time goose---I love the feel of 40 below---from my trapline I will never go!
