I’ve got several big lumps of dirt wax saved from over the years, stuff that was bead, flake, powder or whatever it was originally but over the summer it melts into single lumps because of the summer temps. It’s bagged up and in buckets in an odor free shed no lure, baits or petroleum products in that shed. I can’t use my grinder for it with skunk gland going through it. I tried a skill saw that was an unproductive mess.

Might just use it for trap wax unless someone has a better idea of how to make it useable again.

that you cannot use clump wax.

I just break them up there best I can , get sand pretty hot and throw chunks in.
Use a shovel to mash them down a bit, and let it melt in.

But I use a mixer and weed burner.

Don't know what to say if you solar melt it.
I've tried that method and it always rains.

I wonder if a guy could do like they do with lead shot by dropping screened drops into cold water (I know hot wax and water don’t mix) but I’d be away from any flame dropping small amounts at a time?

Even solar might work that’s kind of how it became one lump in the first place. Thanks for the solar idea.

Yes 5 lb maybe but 25 lb is too much to grade.

Reheat it however you want and break it back apart by hand. Depending on "tacky" the wax is you can throw it in a larger container and just drop a sledge hammer on it until it is small enough pieces that you can break apart by hand or running it through a quality sifter. I have it happen every year to any leftover waxed dirt I have I just break it apart with a hammer. If you can't break it apart you have used way more wax then necessary.

And after you get it warmed and broken apart, thoroughly mix and add more dry sand or dirt to it and re-mix.

Obviously, there was too much wax in the original mix.

I would find a clean hard area, place down a clean tarp first, then a 1/2 sheet of good plywood on top of the tarp. Get one of those asphalt tampers (clean) that have the cast iron weighted squared off bottom and smash it all down until you can get it into more workable pieces.

Then it can be sifted or worked into more manageable pieces. Or just sledge it down with a larger hand held sledge hammer.

Just a couple ideas that I would try.

Spend some of that skunk tail money and buy new wax. Might actually save you money in the long run.

I was going to say cheese grater, but maybe you could try a food processor if you don't want to grate it. We are talking straight wax right? Not waxed dirt?

Yes blocks of wax in the bottom of box in a plastic bag, bucket round leftovers with lids at the end of the year stuff. Pure wax just melted together during the summer.

Log splitter maybe I have a 6” gap to fit 30” rounds for my outdoor boiler that would crush it no problem just make up a few plates

Probably just using it for trap wax would be the easiest use for it.

If it was me I would find me an old salad master grinder /grater

Chop it into manageable chunks and hand grind it

Then I would store it somewhere that I would not be dealing with the same problem again

I think it was Seldom who I saw use a big spade bit in large chunks of wax to make his waxed dirt. You can make a lot of flakes pretty quick, and what is left breaks up. I did it once or twice to fit trap wax into a smaller container. I guess it all comes down to the scale of your project and time available.

Why does it need flaked or beaded?
