In my 67 years here, I have never been to one

Tradionally, new year eve was a day off and more beaver

traps were set, , new years day always started early

watched the sky break and the peeking of the sun to the east

This year will be a little different, no beaver traps to check

but bed time will be the same, told the wife if she wanted

to to a party, by all means do so, just don't wake me up

when you get home. HAPPY New years !!

When I was little , mom would make us a veggie tray and pull out the sleeper sofa so we could watch the ball drop.

To this day, that’s about the extent of my celebrating New Years. I ain’t going ANYWHERE.

I've heard a lot of people call New Years Eve amateur night. The bars seem to be packed with idiots. I usually had to work because I worked security at a casino and that's a big night. Wound up dealing with a lot of drunks man I don't miss that. My wife and I are meeting some friends/relatives at a restaurant tonight. We have a 5:15 reservation. I'd have liked to had it even earlier but I guess it'll be okay. I actually would have preferred to go out another night but that's beside the point. Most places raise their prices because it's a big event for them.

As far as drinking in excess I don't see the attraction to people getting hammered because it's an end of a year. But I don't see the point in getting hammered anytime. I guess I'm a stick in the mud but that's okay with me.
