How many traps and how much gear can you comfortably haul with the kayak? That's something I've always thought about trying to do, but I figured I'd drown myself. And how many beaver will it handle on the line? An extra couple hundred pounds could be dicey.

That's something I've always thought about trying to do, but I figured I'd drown myself. traps arent the problem...its the beaver. loading them so you dont sink or have stability problems is the hard part. I ran a trolling motor as you can see in the pic, bad idea to load beaver in the front first as your bow gets too low and might submarine you. first few beaver on the back. then they move up front. keep skinning gear with you if you have a really good day because a few big beaver like I had there makes you a bit tipsy because your CoG is now lower in the water. video of my line a few years ago https://rumble.com/vy921p-yak-trapping-beaver-22.html?e9s=src_v1_upp_a

Your big pollock butt can’t even fit in a kayak lol Funny you say that. My first time in a kayak, my big Pollock butt got stuck when I flipped it upside down. I came pretty dang close to drowning before I got shallow enough to flip things back over.
