For singing at a graveside service. This is one of those times when quality matters regarding tools/instruments.

Serious question, how do they dig a grave in -51°?

I don't know about Alaska but up here when the frost gets too deep we have funeral services but the burials wait until Spring.

We buried an Uncle in our family cemetery in February of 2003. We built a 4 foot tall crib out of roofing tin and filled it full of firewood. We burned it for 3 days trying to pull the frost out of the ground in that 4x8 spot and still had frost in the hole.

I have nothing clever to put here.

In the village they build a fire to thaw the ground, dig out what they can and then build another fire etc etc till the hole is deep enough. Usually takes a few days.

Dog faced pony soldier and proud of it!
