Was setting some otter boxes this afternoon along the creek and was walking on a rock dyke down to the waters edge. The rock about the size of a 5 galloon bucket gave way and I felt a pop in my calf as my leg hyper extended. Just got back from the ER. Luckily only a torn calf muscle according to Doc. Calf all swollen and bruised but could have been worse. In a boot and on crutches. Wife has been going to do checks a couple times the last week or so. Will see how she does setting traps. Lol

Dang ol boy. Not that a torn calf isn't bad enough right now. But glad it didn't turn out worse.

Hope you heal up good. And as quick as it will without pushing it.

Im glad that it didn't get you worse. I hope you recover quickly. Sucks that it had to happen during fur season.

I did that stunt about 30 years ago whole calf looked purple like grape. So I feel your pain.. Takes a bit before its right again but you should get there. Good luck and keep moving.

Crutches are a real pain. Glad its something that can heal.

Luckily the UTV was only about 30 yards away and I was able to get back up the creek bank and hobble to it with the unset gear. The ER gave me a shot to keep inflammation down and both pain and muscle relaxer. I slept pretty good. I was supposed to haul a couple loads of wood today but may have to wait till one of my boys can assist.

Getting old isn’t for the weak. Lol

Sorry to hear it. Hope you heal fast and let it recover before getting too ambitious. I should practice what I preach.

Last year, middle of cat season I broke my ankle. Fibula actually just above the ankle in two places. I was essentially out for the rest of the season. Did get in the last two weeks of beaver season, painfully.

Stuff like that is why I try to remember to keep my phone in my coat pocket instead of just in the truck.
Hope you heal up fast, crappiekiller!
